Antipope Leo XIV Exploits Pius XI’s Legacy to Legitimize Communist-Church Pact

Vatican News reports that the usurper Robert Prevost, styling himself “Pope Leo XIV,” addressed a conference in Rome commemorating the 1926 consecration of six Chinese bishops by Pope Pius XI. The antipope invoked Maximum Illud and the slogan “unity is not uniformity but communion in diversity” to sanitize the Vatican’s ongoing capitulation to the atheist Chinese Communist Party.

The Usurper’s Theft of Pius XI’s Authority

The cited article relates that “Pope Leo XIV sent a video message on Thursday to an international conference entitled ‘The Face of the Universal Church in China: 100 Years Since the Consecration of the First Chinese Bishops.'” This spectacle presents a grotesque irony: a manifest heretic who occupies the See of Peter ipso facto by his adhesion to the conciliar apostasy (De Romano Pontifice, St. Robert Bellarmine) dares to invoke the authority of Pius XI—the very Pope who, in Quas Primas, proclaimed that “the hope of lasting peace will not yet shine upon nations as long as individuals and states renounce and do not wish to recognize the reign of our Savior” and instituted the Feast of Christ the King precisely to combat the laicism that now regnant in the Vatican.

Pius XI consecrated those six bishops in 1926 to extend the social reign of Christ the King over China, not to foster a “dialogue” with a regime that denies God. The antipope’s invocation of Maximum Illud—Benedict XV’s missionary letter—is a deliberate distortion. Benedict XV wrote that the Church must not be confused with colonization; he did not teach that the Church must accommodate herself to pagan cultures or atheist ideologies. The current “Dicastery for Evangelization” wields that document as a weapon against the mandatum of Quas Primas: “Let rulers of states therefore not refuse public veneration and obedience to the reigning Christ… if they wish to maintain their authority inviolate.”

“Communion in Diversity”: The Modernist Watchword for Relativism

The antipope declares: “It was necessary to initiate and foster that process in order to remain faithful to the very nature of the Church, whose unity is not uniformity but communion in diversity.” This phrase, endlessly repeated by the conciliar sect since Unitatis Redintegratio, is a theological poison. It substitutes the Catholic unitas fidei—unius Domini, una fides, unum baptisma (Eph 4:5)—with a Protestantized “communion” that tolerates doctrinal divergence. The Syllabus of Pius IX condemns the proposition: “Protestantism is nothing more than another form of the same true Christian religion, in which form it is given to please God equally as in the Catholic Church” (Error 18). “Communion in diversity” is the operational application of that condemned error.

The article quotes the antipope: “The Catholic faith embraces the differences and—wherever possible—the characteristics of individuals and peoples in every culture.” This is inculturation elevated to a dogma, a Modernist error condemned by St. Pius X in Lamentabili sane exitu: “Christ did not proclaim any specific, all-encompassing doctrine suitable for all times and peoples, but rather initiated a certain religious movement, applied or applicable to different times and places” (Prop. 59). The true Church does not “embrace differences” that contradict the Faith; she baptizes cultures, purifying them from idolatry. She does not dialogue with the Dragon (Apoc 12:9); she crushes his head.

The Lie of “Legitimate Shepherds” and Invalid Sacraments

The most brazen falsehood in the message is the claim—attributed to “Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis”—that “the Catholic Church in China has never been deprived of the ‘ministry of legitimate shepherds who have preserved the apostolic succession intact.'” This is a lie on two levels.

First, the “shepherds” recognized by the Vatican-Beijing accords are functionaries of the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association, a schismatic body created by the Communist Party to replace the Church. The true bishops and priests of China—those who refuse to register with the state—languish in prisons, labor camps, and house arrest. To call the state-appointed hierarchy “legitimate shepherds” is to call Judas a faithful apostle.

Second, the “apostolic succession” claimed by the conciliar hierarchy is null. The 1968 Pontificale Romanum of Paul VI, used for all episcopal consecrations since, altered the essential form and intention required for the sacrament of Order. As Archbishop Lefebvre demonstrated—though he himself remained in schism by recognizing the usurpers—the new rite omits the explicit conferral of the sacerdotal power to offer the Propitiatory Sacrifice. Ex opere operato cannot supply a defective form. The “bishops” of the patriotic association, even if consecrated by valid (pre-1968) bishops, derive their mission from a schismatic source and exercise no jurisdiction. Canon 188.4 (1917 Code): “Every office becomes vacant by the mere fact and without any declaration… if the cleric publicly defects from the Catholic faith.” Collaboration with an atheist regime that persecutes the Church is public defection.

Silence on the Persecution of the True Church in China

The article’s silence is its loudest condemnation. Not a word about Bishop James Su Zhimin, disappeared since 1997. Not a word about the demolition of churches, the removal of crosses, the prohibition of minors from religious education, the forced “sinicization” of theology. The antipope speaks of “mistrust, suspicion, and hostility consigned to oblivion”—meaning the obliteration of the underground Church’s witness. This is the ostpolitik of the conciliar sect: sacrifice the martyrs for a seat at the table of the powerful. Pius XI, in Quas Primas, citing Leo XIII, taught: “His reign encompasses also all non-Christians, so that most truly the entire human race is subject to the authority of Jesus Christ.” The Chinese Communist Party is subject to Christ the King whether it acknowledges Him or not; the Vatican’s duty is to proclaim that truth, not to sign secret accords that betray it.

Naturalistic Peace vs. the Kingship of Christ

The message concludes with a plea for “the treasure of ecclesial communion, a fruitful source of goodness and peace for all.” This is the peace of the world, pax mundana, which Christ explicitly rejected: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, do I give unto you” (Jn 14:27). The Syllabus condemns the error: “The civil government, even when in the hands of an infidel sovereign, has a right to an indirect negative power over religious affairs” (Error 41). The Vatican-China deal is precisely that: the surrender of the Church’s libertas to an infidel sovereign in exchange for a facade of “communion.”

The “conference” itself—organized by the “Dicastery for Evangelization” and the “Pontifical Urbaniana University”—is a theater of the absurd. These are structures of the abomination of desolation (Mt 24:15), staffed by men who have defected from the Faith. They celebrate the 1926 consecrations not to honor Pius XI’s intent—the conversion of China to the Kingship of Christ—but to legitimize a pseudo-church that serves as a religious fig leaf for a totalitarian state.

The Masonic Blueprint: Dialogue with the Dragon

The strategy exposed here mirrors the Masonic operation described in the analysis of false Fatima: “Stage 3 (1958-2000): Takeover of the narrative by modernists, concealment of the Third Secret, ecumenical reinterpretation.” The “ecumenical reinterpretation” now extends to political ecumenism with the enemies of God. The name “Leo XIV” itself—a deliberate evocation of Leo XIII, the Pope of Rerum Novarum and the Leonine Prayers—masks a pontificate dedicated to the demolition of the very social order those Popes defended.

The six Chinese bishops of 1926—Zhu Kaimin, Hu Ruoshan, Sun Dezhen, Chen Guodi, Wang Yizhe, and Melchior Sun—were consecrated in St. Peter’s Basilica by Pius XI to be princes of the Church, not functionaries of a party. Their successors in the true Church are the confessors in prison. Their successors in the conciliar sect are the signatories of the betrayal. Non praevalebunt (Mt 16:18)—but not because the gates of hell will not prevail against the Vatican’s bureaucracy; they will not prevail against the Ecclesia militans that refuses the mark of the beast.
