Conciliar Hierarch Pleads for Controlled “Tradition” to Stem Hemorrhage to SSPX

The National Catholic Register portal reports that “Archbishop” Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco, recently appointed to the “Apostolic Signatura” by the antipope Leo XIV (Robert Prevost), has called for “easier access” to the Traditional Latin Mass in an interview on EWTN. Cordileone frames this as a measure to maintain “unity within the Church,” warning that restrictions will drive the faithful “outside of officially approved institutions.” He admits the desire for traditional worship among the young is “unstoppable.” Meanwhile, “Cardinal” Arthur Roche, prefect of the “Dicastery for Divine Worship,” asserts Leo XIV has no intention of altering the restrictions of Traditionis Custodes. Cordileone insists any expanded access must be conditioned on “full communion in terms of their belief and their acceptance of the teachings of the Second Vatican Council.”

The Conciliar Sect’s Desperate Stratagem: Baiting the Faithful with a Neutered Rite

The maneuver exposed in this report is as transparent as it is diabolical. The conciliar hierarchy, sensing the catastrophic failure of the Novus Ordo to retain souls — indeed, its positive role in driving them into apostasy — now attempts to co-opt the lex orandi of the true Church as a pastoral lure. But the bait is poisoned. Cordileone explicitly conditions access to the ancient rite upon “acceptance of the teachings of the Second Vatican Council.” This is the conditio sine qua non of the neo-church: one may use the 1962 Missal, but only if one submits to the heresies of religious liberty (Dignitatis Humanae), false ecumenism (Unitatis Redintegratio), and the collegiality that subverts the monarchical constitution of the Church (Lumen Gentium). As Pope Pius XI taught in Quas Primas, “The state must leave the same freedom to the members of Orders and Congregations… who are indeed the most valiant helpers of the Pastors of the Church and contribute most to the expansion and establishment of Christ’s Kingdom.” The conciliar sect does the opposite: it holds the liturgy hostage to its revolutionary novelties.

The Chimera of “Unity” with the Usurpers

Cordileone prattles about “unity within the Church” and “full communion with the See of Rome.” This is the central lie of the great apostasy. The See of Rome has been vacant since the death of Pius XII in 1958, occupied by a line of manifest heretics who have ipso facto severed themselves from the Mystical Body. As St. Robert Bellarmine teaches in De Romano Pontifice: “A Pope who is a manifest heretic, by that very fact ceases to be Pope and head, just as he ceases to be a Christian and member of the body of the Church.” Wernz and Vidal confirm: “By notorious and publicly manifested heresy, the Roman Pontiff… is deprived ipso facto of his personal jurisdiction even before any declaratory sentence by the Church.” Therefore, “unity” with Leo XIV, Roche, and Cordileone is not unity with the Church, but adhesion to the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place (Matt. 24:15). The Syllabus of Pius IX condemns the proposition that “The Roman Pontiff can, and ought to, reconcile himself, and come to terms with progress, liberalism and modern civilization” (Error 80). Cordileone’s entire project is the embodiment of this condemned error.

The SSPX: A Schism Within the Schism, Not the Remedy

The article references the “excommunication of the Society of St. Pius X (SSPX) members involved in consecrating four bishops without the Pope’s permission.” This reveals the controlled opposition function of the SSPX. Archbishop Lefebvre, ordained by the freemason Liénart, consistently acknowledged the validity of the conciliar usurpers. His famous dictum — “give us the old Mass, that is enough for us” — exposes the pragmatic, non-doctrinal nature of his resistance. The 1988 consecrations were a canonical irregularity within the neo-church, not an act of fidelity to the true Church. The SSPX remains a schism within a schism, canonically dependent on the very structure it pretends to oppose, accepting the new Code of Canon Law, the new rite of episcopal consecration (invalid in form and intention), and the legitimacy of the “popes” who promulgated the Council. As the Defense of Sedevacantism file demonstrates, a manifest heretic cannot be Pope; therefore, no “permission” from a false pope is required, nor can his “excommunication” bind. The SSPX’s reliance on “supplied jurisdiction” presupposes a valid hierarchy to supply it — which does not exist in the conciliar sect.

The “Unstoppable” Youth Movement: Nostalgia, Not Conversion

Cordileone crows: “We look at the younger generation — they all love the tradition… This is unstoppable. It’s what’s drawing young people in and will continue to do so.” This is the language of a marketing executive, not a shepherd of souls. The attraction he describes is aesthetic and emotional — “the more classical way that the Church worships,” “sacred music, and great solemnity, and reverence,” “It takes them to a very deep place.” Nowhere does he mention the propitiatory Sacrifice, the Real Presence, the necessity of the state of grace, the Social Kingship of Christ, or the duty to reject error. Pius XI in Quas Primas defines the Kingdom of Christ as consisting in a threefold authority: legislative, judicial, and executive, demanding “obedience to the laws of Christ” and the “renunciation of earthly riches… to deny themselves and carry their cross.” The conciliar “TLM” communities, whether Ecclesia Dei or SSPX, are hotbeds of Americanism, liberalism, and practical naturalism. They attend the ancient rite while sending their children to public schools, voting for pro-abortion politicians, and embracing the spirit of the world. This is not the restoration of all things in Christ (Eph. 1:10); it is the museumification of the liturgy as a cultural accessory for the comfortable.

The Theological Impossibility of a “Catholic” TLM in the Conciliar Sect

Cordileone says: “If they’re allowed generously, we have to make sure that the people who access the Mass are in full communion in terms of their belief and their acceptance of the teachings of the Second Vatican Council.” This admission proves that the rite celebrated in the conciliar structures is not the Mass of the Ages but a simulacrum. The lex orandi cannot be severed from the lex credendi. To celebrate the Traditional Mass while professing the heresies of Vatican II (religious liberty, ecumenism, collegiality, the “people of God” ecclesiology) is a liturgical lie. It is the Missa haereticorum condemned by the Council of Trent: “If anyone says that in the Mass a true and proper sacrifice is not offered to God… let him be anathema” (Session 22, Canon 1). The Novus Ordo theology of the “paschal meal” and “memorial” has infected even the celebration of the 1962 Missal in these structures, where the propitiatory nature is obscured, the Canon is recited aloud, the Confiteor is altered, and the last Gospel is often omitted. As St. Pius X condemned in Lamentabili Sane Exitu (Prop. 65): “Contemporary Catholicism cannot be reconciled with true knowledge without transforming it into a certain dogmaless Christianity, that is, into a broad and liberal Protestantism.” The “TLM” in the conciliar sect is precisely this: a Protestantized ritual stripped of its dogmatic integrity.

The Masonic Blueprint: Controlled Opposition and the “Fatima” Distraction

The article’s framing — the “excommunication” of SSPX bishops, the “dialogue,” the “unity” — follows the classic Masonic dialectic: thesis (Novus Ordo), antithesis (SSPX/Tradition), synthesis (a unified conciliar church absorbing the “traditional” wing). The False Fatima Apparitions file exposes the Masonic operation “Fatima” with its ritualistic 200-year cycles (1717, 1917, 2017) and its disinformation strategy: Stage 1 (implantation), Stage 2 (globalization and control of narrative via Lucia’s isolation), Stage 3 (takeover by modernists, concealment of the Third Secret, ecumenical reinterpretation). The current “TLM liberalization” is Stage 3 in full bloom: the neo-church reclaims the “traditional” liturgy to neutralize it, turning it into a ecumenical tool for dialogue with the schismatic East and a pastoral pacifier for the restless laity. The “conversion of Russia” promised by Fatima — without specifying conversion to the Catholic Faith — is the template for the conciliar “unity”: a unity of religious relativism, not of one Lord, one faith, one baptism (Eph. 4:5).

The Verdict: No Salvation in the Conciliar Structures

The faithful must understand: there is no canonical “regularization” that can make the conciliar sect Catholic. The vacancy of the Holy See is a dogmatic fact derived from the infallible principle that a manifest heretic cannot be Pope (Bellarmine, John of St. Thomas, Canon 188.4, Cum ex Apostolatus Officio). The “Mass” celebrated in union with Leo XIV, whether Novus Ordo or 1962 Missal, is offered in communion with a false pope and a heretical hierarchy. It is idolatry to participate in it. The only path is the via extraordinaria: adherence to bishops and priests of valid orders and true faith who reject the conciliar errors in toto, who maintain the Social Kingship of Christ over all nations, and who preserve the integral deposit of faith without admixture. As Pius XI declared in Quas Primas: “When God and Jesus Christ… were removed from laws and states… the foundations of that authority were destroyed… the entire human society had to be shaken, because it lacked a stable and strong foundation.” The conciliar sect, with its “TLM” bait and its “unity” lies, is the final shaking before the end. “He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters” (Matt. 12:30).
