The Vatican News portal (04 September 2026) publishes an interview with Claudio Lurati, the Comboni missionary functioning as “Apostolic Vicar of Alexandria” within the conciliar sect’s hierarchy. The piece details the demographic decline of the Latin community in Egypt, boasts of daily collaboration with Coptic Orthodox schismatics—who constitute 70–80% of the “diocesan” workforce—and highlights the Dominicans’ “wonderful” dialogue with Al-Azhar University. Lurati frames the Gaza conflict and the Sudanese refugee crisis exclusively through a humanitarian lens, referring to Palestinians as “brothers and sisters” while noting the “peace achieved with Israel” as a political constraint. The interview manifests the complete substitution of the Church’s supernatural mission for the conversion of souls with a naturalistic humanitarianism and false ecumenism that betrays the Kingship of Christ and the necessity of the Catholic Church for salvation.
The Conciliar Sect’s Functionary Masquerading as a Successor of the Apostles
The article presents Claudio Lurati as a “bishop” and “Apostolic Vicar,” yet he is a product of the post-conciliar revolution: ordained a priest in 1985 within the Comboni Missionaries—an order thoroughly infected with the modernist virus of “dialogue” over conversion—and “consecrated” a “bishop” in 2020 by the usurper “Pope” Francis (Jorge Bergoglio). He possesses no jurisdiction from the true Church. As Cum ex Apostolatus Officio (Pope Paul IV) teaches, a heretic elevated to the episcopacy receives a null, void, and of no effect promotion. Lurati is a layman exercising a usurped office within the abomination of desolation occupying the Vatican. His very title “Apostolic Vicar” is a juridical fiction of the paramasonic structure; the true Apostolic Vicariate of Alexandria, if it exists, resides in the catacombs with bishops retaining valid orders and the integral faith.
Reduction of the Church’s History to Sociological Accident
Lurati narrates the history of the Latin presence in Egypt as a tale of traders, engineers, and refugees. He traces its origin to St. Francis’s visit to the Sultan in 1219, omitting the primary purpose of that encounter: the conversion of the infidel and the proclamation of Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus. St. Francis did not go to “dialogue” but to offer his life for the Sultan’s soul. Lurati’s account is stripped of the supernatural: the community grew due to Muhammad Ali’s invitation to Europeans, shrank after Suez nationalization, and now swells with Sudanese refugees. This is the vision of the Church of the New Advent: a human institution subject to geopolitical flux, not the Mystical Body of Christ dilating through the Sacrament of Baptism and the Preaching of the Gospel. The Quas Primas of Pius XI declares that Christ’s Kingdom encompasses all men and that “there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Lurati’s silence on the mandate to baptize the 90% Muslim population is a de facto denial of the Great Commission (Mt 28:19-20).
Communicatio in Sacris with Schismatics: The Daily Betrayal of Unity
The Catholic and Orthodox Churches don’t run many initiatives together, but the contact between us is daily. For instance, I would guess that about 70 or 80 percent of the employees of our Roman Catholic diocese are Orthodox.
This admission is a scandalous violation of divine and ecclesiastical law. The Coptic Orthodox are schismatics separated from the See of Peter since the Council of Chalcedon (451), rejecting the Filioque, the Primacy of the Roman Pontiff, and the Immaculate Conception. The 1917 Code of Canon Law (Canon 1258) strictly forbids communicatio in sacris with non-Catholics. Pius XI in Mortalium Animos (1928) condemns the “pan-Christian” movement which seeks union through compromise, declaring: “The Catholic Church alone is the true Church of Christ… No one can be in the Church of Christ without being in the Church of Rome.” Employing schismatics to run the “diocese” is not “daily contact”—it is institutionalized apostasy. It teaches the faithful that doctrinal unity is optional, that the Una, Sancta, Catholica, et Apostolica is merely one “community” among others. The “Coptic Catholic Church” (300,000 members) is cited as a partner for “activities,” yet this uniate structure serves the conciliar sect’s ecumenical strategy of absorbing the Orthodox without demanding full submission to defined dogmas—a uniatism condemned by the very nature of the Church’s unity.
Dialogue with Islam: Violation of the First Commandment
On the level of interreligious dialogue, let me mention the Dominicans especially. They have a wonderful library, and there are many Muslim students that come to read the books there. They also have an ongoing dialogue with Al-Azhar University, the most important Muslim educational institution, where some of them even give lectures now and then.
Here the spiritual bankruptcy is total. Al-Azhar is the fortress of Sunni orthodoxy denying the Trinity, the Incarnation, the Crucifixion, and the Divinity of Christ. The Dominicans giving lectures there participate in the sin of religious indifferentism, condemned by Pius IX in the Syllabus of Errors (Prop. 15, 16, 17, 18): “Every man is free to embrace and profess that religion which… he shall consider true” (Error 15); “Man may… find the way of eternal salvation… in the observance of any religion whatever” (Error 16). The Lamentabili Sane Exitu of St. Pius X condemns the Modernist error that “Revelation was merely man’s self-awareness of his relationship to God” (Prop. 20). By treating Islam as a valid “partner” in dialogue, Lurati and his Dominican accomplices place the Koran on par with the Gospel, the false prophet on par with the Incarnate Word. This is not “dialogue”; it is apostasy. The Quas Primas insists that rulers and states have the duty to publicly honor Christ; Lurati’s “dialogue” legitimizes a religion that explicitly curses Christ’s divinity five times a day from minarets across Egypt.
Humanitarianism as the New Gospel: Gaza, Sudan, and the Erasure of the Supernatural
Lurati’s commentary on Gaza and Sudan reveals the pelagian core of the conciliar religion.
We follow the situation in Gaza with a great deal of pain… Most of the Palestinians I have met have been hit by Israeli bombs, and are severely injured… I should add, though, that the refugees that we notice the most are not from Palestine but from Sudan… our churches have filled up.
Not a word on the state of their souls. Not a whisper of the necessity of Baptism for salvation (Jn 3:5), the reality of Original Sin, the Four Last Things, or the Social Kingship of Christ over the political order. The “peace achieved with Israel” is praised as a pragmatic good, ignoring that this “peace” is built on the rejection of Christ’s Kingship over Jerusalem and the Holy Land. The Syllabus condemns the error that “The Church ought to be separated from the State, and the State from the Church” (Error 55) and that “The civil government… has a right to an indirect negative power over religious affairs” (Error 41). Lurati accepts the Masonic secular order. The “churches filled up” with Sudanese bodies—but are they filled with sanctifying grace? Are they being taught the Catechism of the Council of Trent? Or are they merely receiving material aid, confirming them in a naturalistic “brotherhood” that saves no one? The article ends with a solicitation for donations to “support us in bringing the Pope’s words into every home”—the words of the antipope Leo XIV (Robert Prevost), the latest usurper in the line of John XXIII. This is the paramasonic structure functioning as a global NGO, using Catholic vocabulary to fund its own destruction.
Symptomatic Diagnosis: The Conciliar Revolution’s Logical Terminus
This interview is not an anomaly; it is the necessary fruit of Vatican II. Nostra Aetate (n. 3) commands “esteem” for Muslims; Unitatis Redintegratio drives “ecumenism” with schismatics; Gaudium et Spes immerses the “Church” in the “joys and hopes” of the world; Dignitatis Humanae enshrines religious liberty. Lurati is a faithful executor of this counter-syllabus. The Comboni charism—historically oriented to the conversion of Africa—has been perverted into a social work agency managing refugee flows. The “bishop” speaks the language of the United Nations (refugees, humanitarian corridors, peace processes), not the language of the Prince of the Apostles. The Defense of Sedevacantism demonstrates that the line of “popes” from John XXIII has defected from the Faith (Canon 188.4, 1917 Code), losing office ipso facto. Lurati, deriving his “mission” from Leo XIV, exercises a non-existent jurisdiction. The true Church in Egypt—if any remains—is invisible to Vatican News, persecuted by the Muslim majority, betrayed by the conciliar hierarchy, and sustained only by the Unbloody Sacrifice of Calvary offered by valid priests in hiding, awaiting the Restoration of All Things in Christ (Eph 1:10).
