Antipope Leo XIV’s Naturalistic Educational Agenda: A Technocratic Distraction from the Social Kingship of Christ

The “Pillar Catholic” portal (September 30, 2026) publishes an apologia by Mr. Kyle Washut, president of the conciliar institution Wyoming Catholic College, for the latest pedagogical offensive of the usurper “Pope” Leo XIV (Robert Prevost). The article, “Pope Leo’s educational initiative: ‘The teaching of our young people has been given into our care'”, attempts to baptize a purely naturalistic, sociological response to the digital age by invoking the authority of a manifest heretic and his newly minted “saints” — the pseudo-mystic Carlo Acutis, the social activist Pier Giorgio Frassati, and the architect of doctrinal evolution John Henry Newman. This exercise in conciliar damage control exposes the total bankruptcy of the neo-church: it has nothing to offer but a therapeutic management of technological symptoms, having long abandoned the salus animarum and the regnum Christi.

The Usurper’s Pedagogy: A Counterfeit Magisterium for a Counterfeit Church

The fundamental fact, which the article studiously ignores, is that Robert Prevost is not the Roman Pontiff. Since the death of Pius XII in 1958, the See of Peter has been vacant, occupied by a succession of modernist usurpers who have ipso facto severed themselves from the Mystical Body by their public adhesion to the heresies of Vatican II — religious liberty, ecumenism, collegiality, and the new ecclesiology. As St. Robert Bellarmine teaches, “a manifest heretic, by that very fact, ceases to be Pope and head, just as he ceases to be a Christian and member of the body of the Church” (De Romano Pontifice, lib. 2, cap. 30). The “encyclical” Magnifica humanitas and the “apostolic exhortation” Drawing New Maps of Hope are not acts of the Magisterium; they are the private writings of a private theologian, devoid of canonical mission and infallible protection, emanating from the paramasonic structure occupying the Vatican.

Mr. Washut writes as if this were a legitimate exercise of the Petrine ministry: “Leo argues in his first encyclical… Leo’s consistent message for the last year has been that Catholic education is an essential force in this work.” This is the language of schismatic obedience. By treating the manifest heretic Prevost as “Pope,” Washut and the “Pillar Catholic” portal participate in the great delusion foretold by St. Paul: “God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying” (2 Thess 2:11). The very concept of a “pontificate” dedicated to “disentangling tech from the technocratic paradigm” is a grotesque caricature of the papal office, whose munus is to confirm the brethren in the faith (Lk 22:32), not to curate digital wellness programs.

The Canonization Factory: Manufacturing “Saints” for the New Religion

The article’s reliance on the “canonizations” of Acutis, Frassati, and Newman by the antipope is the smoking gun of the neo-church’s apostasy. Canonization is an act of the supreme Magisterium, infallible and irreformable, requiring a true Pope. An antipope cannot canonize. These “saints” are therefore idols of the conciliar sect, erected to legitimize its novel spirituality.

“More than a quarter of the world’s population is struggling with some form of digital addiction… the newly-canonized St. Carlo Acutis offered the world an example of just such disciplined use, reminding us that we can rightly use technology only by first training ourselves in digital sobriety.”

Carlo Acutis, a youth who designed websites for Eucharistic miracles, is presented as the patron of “digital sobriety.” This reduces the heroic virtue required for sanctity to a technocratic self-help technique. The neo-church canonizes a computer programmer to bless its surrender to the digital world. True Catholic education forms saints for eternity, not “digital citizens” for time. The “miracle” required for Acutis’s beatification — the healing of a Brazilian boy with a pancreatic anomaly — was adjudicated by the very modernist tribunals that deny the necessity of the Catholic Church for salvation. It is theatrum, not theology.

“‘Do not remain fixated on your smartphones and their fleeting bursts of images’ says Leo. ‘Instead, look to the sky, to the heights’ — a clear reference to ‘Verso L’Alto,’ the motto of St. Pier Giorgio Frassati, canonized by Pope Leo in the early days of his pontificate.”

Pier Giorgio Frassati, the “man of the eight beatitudes,” is the neo-church’s poster boy for Catholic Action — that lay movement which Pius XI warned must be “hierarchically organized” and subordinated to the apostolate of the hierarchy, not a platform for lay autonomy. Frassati’s “Verso l’Alto” (Toward the Heights) referred to mountain climbing as a metaphor for spiritual ascent. In the mouth of the antipope, it becomes a secular summons to “nature” and “poetry”, stripped of the cross and the sacraments. The article quotes Leo: “No algorithm can replace that which makes education truly human: poetry, art, imagination, and the joy of discovery.” This is Rousseauvian romanticism, not Catholic pedagogy. The “joy of discovery” without the Fear of the Lord (Prov 1:7) is the first step to the abyss.

“In this world of fragmentation, an ‘integral education’ like that proposed by St. John Henry Newman is of paramount importance. Such an education provides a unifying vision of the whole of existence — both what is known by faith and what is known through reason — and rejects the mercantilist’s inclination to measure value in terms of functionality and practical utility.”

Here the mask slips entirely. John Henry Newman, the father of the “development of doctrine” heresy, is the theological patron of the conciliar revolution. His Essay on the Development of Christian Doctrine provided the intellectual framework for the Modernist evolution of dogma condemned by St. Pius X in Pascendi Dominici Gregis and Lamentabili Sane Exitu. Newman’s “integral education” in The Idea of a University explicitly separated theological science from the governance of the Church, paving the way for the academic freedom that devoured Catholic orthodoxy in the 20th century. To propose Newman as a model for “integrating faith and reason” is to propose arsenic as a tonic. The Syllabus of Pius IX condemns the proposition that “the method and principles by which the old scholastic doctors cultivated theology are no longer suitable to the demands of our times” (Error 13). Newman is the architect of that very rupture.

Linguistic Analysis: The Vocabulary of the “Church of the New Advent”

The article’s rhetoric is a masterclass in modernist newspeak. Note the lexicon: “technocratic paradigm,” “throwaway culture,” “dopamine culture,” “digital sobriety,” “human flourishing,” “authentic community,” “shared pursuit of Truth.” These are not Catholic categories. They are the jargon of the UN Agenda 2030, the World Economic Forum, and the secular academy, baptized with holy water.

The term “technocratic paradigm” appears five times. It originates not in Thomistic philosophy but in the social encyclicals of the conciliar popes (Paul VI, John Paul II, Benedict XVI, Francis), culminating in Francis’s Laudato Si’. It frames the crisis of modernity as a systems-management problem, not a theological crisis of sin and apostasy. The article states: “The challenge of artificial intelligence… is not the technology itself, but its enmeshment in the technocratic paradigm.” This is a lie. The challenge of AI is that it is a tool of the Prince of this World (Jn 12:31) to simulate the Logos without the Cross, to offer a counterfeit omniscience that apes God’s attribute of knowledge. The response is not “digital sobriety” but mortification of the intellect in obedience to Credo.

The phrase “human flourishing” replaces beatitudo and salus aeterna. The “four-part educational approach” — Fast, Immerse, Integrate, Incarnate — is a gnostic ladder of self-actualization. There is no mention of baptism, confession, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Rosary, devotion to the Sacred Heart, the Four Last Things. The “community” invoked is a naturalistic sodality, not the Communio Sanctorum. As Pius XI taught in Quas Primas: “His reign encompasses not only Catholic nations… but His reign encompasses also all non-Christians, so that most truly the entire human race is subject to the authority of Jesus Christ.” The article’s “community” recognizes no such authority; it seeks only “genuine closeness” and “trustworthy relationships.”

Theological Level: The Absence of the Supernatural Order

The gravest accusation against this article is its total silence on the supernatural order. Gratiam non tollit naturam, sed perficit (Grace does not destroy nature but perfects it). The conciliar sect, however, reduces grace to nature. The “education” proposed is purely anthropological: forming resilient, critically thinking, aesthetically sensitive, communally engaged human beings. It is Pelagianism 2.0 — the belief that man can, by his own “integral” efforts, “liberate technology from technocracy” and secure a “clean earth to till.”

“Whether this humanizing education will free them from the prison of the technocratic age is more than we can know, but for those of us entrusted with Catholic education, let us at least give those in our care the freedom to fight another day.”

This closing admission of ignorance — “more than we can know” — is the confession of a naturalist. The true Catholic educator knows that “there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). He knows that the “prison” is not the “technocratic age” but the state of mortal sin, and the only “freedom” is “the glorious liberty of the children of God” (Rom 8:21), purchased by the Unbloody Sacrifice of Calvary and applied through the valid sacraments administered by validly ordained priests in communion with the true Roman Pontiff.

The article cites C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien — Protestant and lay apologists — as theological authorities. Lewis denied the Real Presence (holding to “receptionism”), rejected papal infallibility, and believed in purgatory as a process of “scrubbing.” Tolkien, though a devout Catholic of the old rite, is invoked here by a “deacon” of the neo-church to legitimize a literary sentimentalism that substitutes for dogma. The quote from The Lord of the Rings — “it is not our part to master all the tides of the world, but to do what is in us for the succor of those years wherein we are set” — is twisted to mean pedagogical damage control. In Tolkien’s mouth, it meant fidelity to the mission against impossible odds, a mission defined by objective moral law, not “human flourishing.”

Symptomatic Level: The Conciliar Sect’s Surrender to the World

This article is a symptom of the Great Apostasy. The structures occupying the Vatican (the “conciliar sect,” “Church of the New Advent,” “abomination of desolation”) have, since 1958, systematically dismantled the Social Kingship of Christ proclaimed by Pius XI in Quas Primas. They replaced Christ the King with Man the Citizen. They replaced the Syllabus of Errors with Dignitatis Humanae. They replaced the Tridentine Mass with the Novus Ordo Missae — a Protestantized memorial that signifies the community’s self-celebration rather than the Propitiatory Sacrifice.

Wyoming Catholic College, the “Pillar Catholic” portal, and the “deacon” Washut are instruments of this counter-church. Their “Great Books” curriculum, their “outdoor leadership,” their “digital sobriety” — these are the opiate for the Catholic remnant who refuse to see that the hierarchy has defected. They offer a gilded cage of natural virtue while the True Mass is suppressed, the True Faith is corrupted, and the True Pope is awaited.

The “technocratic paradigm” they decry is the inevitable fruit of the principles they uphold. Once you accept religious liberty (Error 15 of the Syllabus: “Every man is free to embrace and profess that religion which, guided by the light of reason, he shall consider true”), you have enthroned autonomous human reason as the measure of all things. The algorithm is simply the logical terminus of autonomous reason: pure calculation, unmoored from Logos. You cannot “disentangle” the fruit from the tree. The only “disentanglement” is conversion — “Convertimini ad me, et salvi eritis” (Is 45:22).

The Syllabus Condemns This Entire Enterprise

Pius IX’s Syllabus of Errors (1864) condemns every premise of this article:

  • Error 3: “Human reason, without any reference whatsoever to God, is the sole arbiter of truth and falsehood…” — The article’s “critical thought” and “wisdom” are purely rationalistic.
  • Error 15: “Every man is free to embrace and profess that religion which, guided by the light of reason, he shall consider true.” — The “pluralism” implicit in “dialogue” and “community” without doctrinal unity.
  • Error 55: “The Church ought to be separated from the State, and the State from the Church.” — The article’s focus on “civil society” and “common home” excludes the Kingship of Christ over the temporal order.
  • Error 80: “The Roman Pontiff can, and ought to, reconcile himself, and come to terms with progress, liberalism and modern civilization.” — This is precisely the program of “Leo XIV” and his apologists: reconcile the Church with the digital age.

St. Pius X, in Lamentabili Sane Exitu (1907), condemned the Modernist proposition: “Christ did not proclaim any specific, all-encompassing doctrine suitable for all times and peoples, but rather initiated a certain religious movement, applied or applicable to different times and places” (Prop. 59). The “educational initiative” of the antipope is exactly this: a movement adapted to the digital age, not the immutable Deposit of Faith.

Conclusion: Return to the Catacombs, Not the Classroom

The article is a manifesto of the anti-Church. It proposes a Catholicism without the Cross, a Church without the Papacy, a Faith without Dogma, a Liturgy without Sacrifice, and an Education without Salvation. It uses the prestige of a “college president,” the sentimentality of “canonized” laymen, and the authority of Protestant novelists to lure the faithful into the conciliar ghetto, where they can practice “digital sobriety” while the abomination of desolation stands in the Holy Place (Mt 24:15).

The true Catholic response is not a “four-part educational approach.” It is the Four Marks of the Church: One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic. It is the Traditional Latin Mass celebrated by valid priests. It is the Rosary of Our Lady. It is sedevacantism — the refusal to recognize the usurpers — as the only canonical position consistent with Cum ex Apostolatus Officio of Paul IV and the teaching of Bellarmine. It is the prayer: “Rege nos, Christe, in pace; et in veritate tua dirige nos” (Rule us, Christ, in peace; and direct us in Thy truth).

“When God and Jesus Christ were removed from laws and states and when authority was derived not from God but from men, the foundations of that authority were destroyed… the entire human society had to be shaken, because it lacked a stable and strong foundation.” — Pius XI, Quas Primas (citing Ubi Arcano).

The “technocratic paradigm” is the shaking of the foundations. The only remedy is the Social Reign of Christ the King. Everything else is Uncle Andrew’s scrap iron, sold as gold by the merchants of the temple.
