Conciliar Prelates Surrender Evangelization to Islamic Supremacy Under Guise of Dialogue

The National Catholic Register, organ of the conciliar sect’s “conservative” wing, publishes a commentary by former diplomat Alberto M. Fernandez analyzing a dispute between the “cardinal” of Algiers, Jean-Paul Vesco, and “bishop” Robert Barron regarding the evangelization of Muslims, alongside “cardinal” Matteo Zuppi’s distribution of indifferentist educational materials on Islam in Italian schools. The article laments the loss of missionary zeal while remaining entirely within the false paradigm of Vatican II’s Nostra Aetate, proving that even “critique” in the neo-church is but a managed dialectic serving the Masonic project of religious indifferentism.

The False Premise of “Coexistence” as Supreme Value

The commented article opens with the assertion: “Coexistence with Muslims is essential. Even more so is the propagation of the Catholic faith.” This ordering reveals the naturalistic hierarchy of the conciliar mind. Coexistence — a purely temporal, sociological category — is placed as the prerequisite, the sine qua non, for the supernatural mission of the Church. This is a direct inversion of the Kingship of Christ. Pope Pius XI, in Quas Primas, teaches that “the hope of lasting peace will not yet shine upon nations as long as individuals and states renounce and do not wish to recognize the reign of our Savior” and that “the Kingdom of our Redeemer encompasses all men… most truly the entire human race is subject to the authority of Jesus Christ.” There is no “coexistence” between the Kingdom of Christ and the kingdom of Satan; there is only conquest: “He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet” (1 Cor 15:25). The article’s framework accepts the Masonic lie that religious peace is achieved by mutual toleration rather than by the social reign of Christ the King.

Nostra Aetate: The Poisoned Root of Indifferentism

Fernandez notes that Zuppi’s materials were presented “within the context of the 60th anniversary of the 1965 Vatican II document Nostra Aetate.” He further records that this document’s esteem for Muslims “was, at the time, the fruit of intense lobbying by Eastern Catholics and Arab regimes.” This admission — that a conciliar declaration on faith was crafted by political pressure from infidel powers — should horrify any Catholic. Instead, the author treats it as historical trivia.

Nostra Aetate is a heretical document. It declares the Church “regards with esteem also the Moslems” who “adore the one God… merciful and all-powerful.” This contradicts the defined dogma that outside the Church there is no salvation (Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus) and the teaching of the Fourth Lateran Council: “There is but one universal Church of the faithful, outside which no one at all is saved.” Islam explicitly denies the Blessed Trinity, the Divinity of Christ, the Incarnation, the Redemption, and the divine institution of the Church. To “esteem” a religion that blasphemes the Triune God is to esteem blasphemy. The Syllabus of Errors (Pius IX, 1864) condemns the proposition: “Man may, in the observance of any religion whatever, find the way of eternal salvation” (Error 16). Nostra Aetate is the practical application of this condemned error.

The “Cardinal” Vesco: Apostasy Masquerading as Prudence

The “cardinal-archbishop of Algiers,” Jean-Paul Vesco, states: “we are the Church of this people. Not a proselytizing Church, not a Church that is there to convert.” He adds: “in monotheistic religions, proselytism is poison, because it implies considering the other person’s religion false.”

This is formal heresy. A “Church” that does not convert is not the Church of Christ. Our Lord’s final command was: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Mt 28:19-20). The propagation of the faith is not “proselytism” — a term coined by Modernists to pathologize the divine mandate — but the very reason for the Church’s existence. Pope Pius XI in Quas Primas declares: “The Church… demands for itself by a right belonging to it, which it cannot renounce, full freedom and independence from secular authority… to teach, govern, and lead all to eternal happiness.”

Vesco’s claim that considering another religion “false” is “poison” denies the objective truth of the Catholic Faith. “He who is not with Me is against Me” (Mt 12:30). Islam is false. It is a Christian heresy, as St. John of Damascus (the sole Arab Doctor of the Church, tellingly absent from Zuppi’s materials) definitively classified it in his De Haeresibus: the “heresy of the Ishmaelites.” To deny this is to deny the Faith.

The “Bishop” Barron: Controlled Opposition Within the Neo-Church

Fernandez presents “Bishop” Robert Barron as the “conservative” counterweight, quoting him: “no one thinks that this work of evangelization should be done in a browbeating, overbearing or disrespectful manner (proselytization), but for God’s sake, let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater.”

Barron accepts Vesco’s false definition of “proselytism.” He concedes the Modernist vocabulary. He does not defend the necessity of conversion for salvation; he merely pleads for a “nicer” version of the conciliar “new evangelization” — which is no evangelization at all, but a dialogue of salvation in false religions. This is the classic dialectic of the conciliar sect: the “progressive” pushes the heresy, the “conservative” legitimizes it by accepting its premises while quibbling over degree. Both serve the same master: the abomination of desolation occupying the Vatican.

The Antipope Leo XIV: The Architect of the Apostasy

The article notes: “one person who is very much interested in conversion and evangelization is Pope Leo XIV himself, who said only six months ago that ‘evangelization must remain the fundamental motivation behind every action of the universal Church and of local communities.'”

Robert Prevost (“Leo XIV”) is a manifest heretic and usurper. As a “cardinal” under Bergoglio, he promoted the synodal agenda, religious indifferentism, and the LGBT agenda. His “evangelization” is the conciliar counterfeit: dialogue, accompaniment, witness of life — everything except the proclamation of Extra Ecclesiam nulla salus and the call to baptism. The article’s citation of him as an authority proves its total captivity to the false hierarchy. “If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit” (Mt 15:14).

The Zuppi Materials: Catechesis for the Antichrist

“Cardinal” Matteo Zuppi, president of the Italian “Episcopal Conference,” presents “11 fact sheets on Islam to be used by teachers and students in Catholic religion classes… prepared by the CEI, the Pontifical Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies, and representatives of various Islamic organizations in Italy.”

Islamic organizations co-authoring “Catholic” catechetical materials. This is the ecumenism of the Antichrist foretold by the Syllabus: “The Roman Pontiff can, and ought to, reconcile himself, and come to terms with progress, liberalism and modern civilization” (Error 80). The materials are described as “extremely respectful of Islam and presenting it as positively or as neutrally as possible, without passing into open advocacy.” Neutrality toward a false religion is apostasy. The Church has no right to be “neutral” on the Divinity of Christ. “Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father” (1 Jn 2:23).

Zuppi’s stated goal: “learning about Islam to overcome prejudices and promote coexistence… the future is dialogue… the opposite of a clash of civilizations.” This is pure Masonic naturalism. The “clash of civilizations” is the spiritual battle between the City of God and the City of Man. To seek its elimination via “dialogue” is to seek the surrender of the Church. Pius IX in the Syllabus condemns: “The Church ought to be separated from the State, and the State from the Church” (Error 55) — but here the “Church” separates itself from Christ the King to embrace the world.

Omission of St. John of Damascus: Erasure of Catholic Truth

Fernandez correctly notes: “One would not know from the Italian texts that there is actually some scholarly research that seems to point to St. John of Damascus being right.” The sole Arab Doctor of the Church, who lived under the Caliphate and knew Islam intimately, is censored by the conciliar sect. Why? Because he calls Islam a heresy and refutes its errors point by point. The “dialogue” project requires the memory hole of Catholic tradition. “Woe to you who take away the key of knowledge!” (Lk 11:52).

The Sudanese Reformer Mahmud Muhammad Taha: A Warning Ignored

The article mentions Mahmud Muhammad Taha, executed for apostasy for distinguishing a “Meccan” (universal) and “Medinan” (contextual) message in the Quran. Fernandez notes his absence from the materials. This omission proves the materials are not “scholarly” but apologetic for Islam. They present a sanitized Islam, hiding its intrinsic violence and supremacism. The Quran commands: “Fight those who believe not in Allah… until they pay the jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued” (9:29). The conciliar sect’s “respect” for Islam is the contemptuous toleration of the strong for the weak noted by Hourani — but here the “strong” is Islam, and the “weak” is the apostatizing conciliar hierarchy.

The Theological Bankruptcy of “Respectful Dialogue”

Fernandez asks: “Surely there should be no contradiction between respecting others of different beliefs and believing that those beliefs are wrong or, to be more diplomatic, incomplete.”

“Incomplete” is a Modernist euphemism for “damnable heresy.” Islam denies the Trinity, the Incarnation, the Crucifixion, the Resurrection. It is not “incomplete”; it is antichristic. “Every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist” (1 Jn 4:3). The Church’s “respect” for persons never extends to respect for their errors. Pope St. Pius X in Lamentabili Sane Exitu condemns: “The dogmas of faith should be understood according to their practical function, i.e., as binding in action, rather than as principles of belief” (Error 26). The conciliar sect reduces dogma to “dialogue etiquette.”

Canon 188.4 and the Vacancy of the See

The men cited in this article — Vesco, Barron, Zuppi, Prevost — hold offices in the conciliar sect. They are not Catholic bishops. By Canon 188.4 of the 1917 Code: “Every office becomes vacant by the mere fact and without any declaration… if the cleric: 4. Publicly defects from the Catholic faith.” Public adhesion to Nostra Aetate, religious liberty, false ecumenism, and the “new evangelization” constitutes public defection. As Wernz and Vidal teach: “By notorious and publicly manifested heresy, the Roman Pontiff… is deprived ipso facto of his personal jurisdiction even before any declaratory sentence by the Church.” The same applies to all “bishops” and “cardinals” of the neo-church. They are laymen usurping ecclesiastical office.

The Only Solution: The Social Reign of Christ the King

The article concludes: “Coexistence is essential. Even more so is the propagation of the faith.” It offers no means for this propagation, because within the conciliar paradigm there is none. The only means is the restoration of the Catholic Church — the integral Faith, the Traditional Latin Mass, the Syllabus of Errors, the Kingship of Christ over all nations. “When God and Jesus Christ… were removed from laws and states and when authority was derived not from God but from men, the foundations of that authority were destroyed” (Pius XI, Quas Primas, quoting Ubi Arcano).

The “dialogue” with Islam is a dialogue with the sword — the sword of Islam against the Church, and the sword of the conciliar hierarchy against the Faith. There is no “polite talk” that converts Muslims. There is only the foolishness of preaching (1 Cor 1:21): “Jesus Christ, and Him crucified” (1 Cor 2:2). The conciliar sect has abandoned the Cross for the round table. Its end is the abomination of desolation. “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues” (Apoc 18:4).
