USCCB’s Superficial Gesture Masks Deeper Complicity with Gender Ideology

Catholic News Agency reports that the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has endorsed President Trump’s executive order removing “gender” terminology from refugee resettlement forms for unaccompanied children. The bishops’ public comment cites the conciliar sect’s 2024 document Dignitas Infinita and its 2019 text “Male and Female He Created Them” to justify replacing “gender” with “sex” in government paperwork. While claiming alignment with “the Catholic Church’s teachings on the God-given dignity of the human person,” the statement perpetuates the neo-modernist errors it pretends to oppose. This calculated performative resistance deliberately ignores the root causes of gender ideology’s spread: the conciliar sect’s own decades-long doctrinal ambiguity and pastoral malfeasance.

Anthropological Reductionism Replaces Supernatural Truth

The USCCB’s appeal to “true anthropology” constitutes a modernist corruption of Catholic teaching. Pius XI’s encyclical Quas Primas establishes that “the empire of our Redeemer embraces all men… princes and rulers are bound to give public honor and obedience to Christ” (1925). By contrast, the bishops reduce the Church’s mission to promoting vague “human flourishing” through bureaucratic compliance – a naturalism condemned in the Syllabus of Errors: “The Church is an enemy of the progress of natural and theological sciences” (Prop. 57). Their statement omits all reference to the Four Last Things, sacramental life, or the necessity of grace to overcome disordered passions – a silence that confirms the conciliar sect’s abandonment of supernatural faith.

“Biological sex and the socio-cultural role of sex (gender) can be distinguished but not separated,” the document teaches.

This formulation from Dignitas Infinita smuggles in the very gender/sex dichotomy the USCCB claims to reject. The 1907 decree Lamentabili Sane anathematized the proposition that “truth changes with man, because it develops with him” (Prop. 58). Yet the conciliar sect’s documents implicitly accept gender as a legitimate sociological category, violating the Thomistic principle that sexus est in anima (sex resides in the soul). Pius XII’s Mystici Corporis affirms the ontological unity of body and soul against such dualistic thinking: “The human person… is formed from the union of both elements” (1943).

Conciliar Documents as Trojan Horses

The bishops’ citation of Bergoglio’s Dignitas Infinita exposes their theological bankruptcy. This document claims “biological elements exist which are impossible to ignore” while simultaneously endorsing the false distinction between sex and gender – a contradiction revealing the conciliar sect’s doctrinal incoherence. Compare this to Leo XIII’s Libertas Praestantissimum: “The Church… proclaims and asserts… the absolute necessity of moral government and of public religion” (1888). True Catholic teaching admits no separation between biological reality and its moral implications, whereas the USCCB treats biological sex as a mere data point for government forms rather than a sacred participation in divine order.

Most damningly, the USCCB statement never mentions:
1. The eternal consequences of rejecting one’s God-given sex
2. The sacrilege of bodily mutilation through “gender-affirming care”
3. The duty of civil authorities to suppress public propagation of gender ideology

This selective moralizing reveals the conciliar hierarchy’s complicity. As the Syllabus condemns: “The Church has not the power of using force” (Prop. 24) – a heresy enabling the gender ideology pandemic by denying magistrates’ duty to coercively restrain evil.

The USCCB’s Illegitimate Authority

These “bishops” lack jurisdiction, being appointed by antipopes and participating in the conciliar sect’s apostasy. The 1917 Code of Canon Law (Canon 188.4) establishes that “every office becomes vacant by the mere fact… of public defection from the Catholic faith.” Their very existence as a conference institutionalizes the collegiality error condemned by Pius VI in Auctorem Fidei (1794). When they cite Genesis 1:27, they blasphemously appropriate Scripture while rejecting its Author’s supreme authority over civil governance – a rejection formalized in Vatican II’s declaration on religious liberty.

The article’s reference to Trump’s policy as “restoring biological truth” constitutes journalistic malpractice. No civil authority that permits abortion (62 million dead since Roe v. Wade) or same-sex “marriage” can claim to uphold natural law. Pius IX’s Quanta Cura reminds us: “The Church cannot… come to terms with progress, liberalism, and modern civilization” (1864). Until these conciliar functionaries demand the complete eradication of gender ideology from public life and the establishment of Christ’s social kingship, their paper reforms serve only to legitimate the very disorder they feebly protest.
