Apostolic Journey or Apostasy? Lebanese Youth Misled by Vatican’s False Shepherd
EWTN News reports on Lebanese students from the School of the Apostles in Jounieh preparing letters for the antipope Leo XIV’s visit, framing it as a “historic moment” for Christian witness. The article depicts children petitioning the usurper of the Apostolic See for Lebanon’s economic recovery and interfaith peace, under the guidance of Fr. Maroun Moubarak, who claims the visit demonstrates “the deep compassion the Vatican and the pope hold for Lebanon.” A blasphemous spectacle unfolds as students address the antipope as “Your Holiness” while reducing Catholicism to social activism.
False Shepherds Exploit Innocence to Normalize Apostasy
The scandal begins with the premise that the Vatican occupier merits spiritual authority. As Pope Pius XII declared: “He who deserts the See of Peter is without doubt excluded from the divine structure of the Church” (Encyclical Mystici Corporis, 1943). By presenting Leo XIV as a legitimate successor to St. Peter, the article commits material heresy. Fr. Moubarak compounds this by teaching children that the antipope’s presence “stands as a call for young Christians to remain steadfast” — a diabolical inversion of truth, for true steadfastness requires rejecting imposters (Galatians 1:8-9).
The students’ letters reveal the rotten fruits of this deception. Makarios Osta begs the antipope to pray for “leaders who truly love their country,” ignoring Pope Pius XI‘s teaching that “Peace is only possible in the kingdom of Christ” (Encyclical Quas Primas, 1925). Cassandra Katerji promises to “speak only the language of peace” with non-Catholics, directly contradicting Pope Pius IX‘s condemnation of indifferentism: “It is unlawful to place any form of worship on par with the true religion” (Encyclical Quanta Cura, 1864).
Naturalism Masquerading as Catholic Education
Fr. Moubarak’s “structured plan” for spiritual preparation exposes the post-conciliar sect’s betrayal of Catholic pedagogy. Daily Masses allegedly offered for the visit’s success profane the Holy Sacrifice, since Leo XIV lacks jurisdiction to licitly celebrate or commission the Sacraments (Canon 188.4, 1917 Code). Workshops on the Vatican’s “role” indoctrinate youth into accepting the conciliar revolution — a rebellion condemned by Pope St. Pius X as “the synthesis of all heresies” (Encyclical Pascendi, 1907).
The article boasts that students learn the visit’s logo and symbols — modernist theatricalities designed to replace sacramentals with empty branding. Meanwhile, the school’s true mission emerges in Moubarak’s statement: “The Vatican… plays a crucial role in forming the human person in all dimensions, not only spiritually but also intellectually, morally, and socially.” This echoes the Syllabus of Errors‘ condemnation of those who claim “The Church is incapable of effectively defending evangelical ethics” (Proposition 63).
Silence Where Thunder Should Resound
Nowhere does the article warn students that Leo XIV promotes the Pachamama idolatries and heresies of his Bergoglian predecessors. There is no mention of Pope Pius XI‘s mandate: “It is forbidden to permit non-Catholics to propagate their false doctrines or to have any share in the instruction of Catholic youth” (Encyclical Divini Illius Magistri, 1929).
The children’s plea for Lebanon’s financial recovery ignores the only solution: public submission to Christ the King. As student Rita Tahtouh rightly fears, they risk becoming “wood burned in political deals” by seeking temporal solutions from a false pontiff. Chris Abi Hanna’s invitation to eat kibbeh while Lebanon’s churches decay into ecumenical meeting spaces embodies the spiritual anorexia fostered by the counterfeit church.
True Catholic Action Requires Rejection of the Anti-Church
Fr. Moubarak’s claim that students will “translate [the antipope’s] words into concrete commitments” completes the betrayal. Pope Leo XIII warned: “No one can in any way be in the Church of Christ unless he is united to Peter, as to the rock on which the Church is entirely built” (Encyclical Satis Cognitum, 1896). To obey a manifest heretic is to sever oneself from the Mystical Body.
Lebanon’s Christian youth deserve truth, not emotional manipulation. Let them study Pope Pius IX‘s Syllabus of Errors (1864) condemning religious liberty, or Pope Pius X‘s Lamentabili Sane (1907) against modernist exegesis. Until they reject the Vatican II sect and its antipopes, their “promises to rebuild Lebanon” will only erect another tower of Babel — doomed to collapse under God’s justice.
