Vatican’s Confucian Colloquium: Indifferentism Masquerading as Dialogue

The Vatican News portal reports on the First Confucian–Christian Colloquium held at Sogang University in Seoul on 4–5 August 2026. Convened by the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue alongside the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Korea, the Confucian Academy of Korea, and the Jesuit-run Sogang University, the gathering featured the Prefect of said Dicastery, “Cardinal” George Jacob Koovakad, and its Secretary, “Monsignor” Indunil Janakaratne Kodithuwakku Kankanamalage. The assembled scholars and religious leaders issued a Final Statement pledging to “deepen friendship and dialogue” and “work together for the flourishing of humanity and the whole community of life” based on “shared values” like ethical living, care for the vulnerable, and technological ethics. This event is not a “dialogue” but a formal act of apostasy: the conciliar sect officially ratifies indifferentism, dethrones Christ the King, and constructs a naturalistic Tower of Babel under the banner of a Masonic “Great Harmony.”

The Theological Crime of Indifferentism: Equating Truth and Error

The Final Statement declares that “Authentic encounter does not erase differences, but instead deepens understanding, strengthens trust, and enriches us all.” This sentence alone encapsulates the heresy of indifferentism, solemnly condemned by the Syllabus of Pope Pius IX: “Man may, in the observance of any religion whatever, find the way of eternal salvation, and arrive at eternal salvation” (Error 16) and “Protestantism is nothing more than another form of the same true Christian religion” (Error 18). Here, the false religion of Confucianism—a philosophical system devoid of supernatural revelation, the Trinity, the Incarnation, and the Redemption—is elevated to the status of a “partner” possessing “a shared call to build a world of justice, respect, compassion, peace, and harmony.”

The Syllabus further anathematizes the proposition: “Every man is free to embrace and profess that religion which, guided by the light of reason, he shall consider true” (Error 15). The Seoul Colloquium operationalizes this condemned error. By seeking “common aspiration” and “shared values” with a system that knows neither the True God nor the Supernatural Order, the conciliar sect denies the necessitas medii—the necessity of the Catholic Church for salvation (extra Ecclesiam nulla salus). St. Pius X in Lamentabili sane exitu condemned the Modernist proposition: “The dogmas which the Church proposes as revealed are not truths of divine origin but are a certain interpretation of religious facts” (Prop. 22). The Seoul Statement treats Catholic dogma and Confucian philosophy as merely different “religious and philosophical foundations” converging on the same ethical plateau. This is the synthesis of all errors: Modernism.

The Denial of the Social Kingship of Christ: Quas Primas Betrayed

Pope Pius XI, in Quas Primas (1925), established the Feast of Christ the King precisely to combat the “plague that poisons human society… the secularism of our times, so-called laicism”. He taught: “His reign encompasses not only Catholic nations… but His reign encompasses also all non-Christians, so that most truly the entire human race is subject to the authority of Jesus Christ.” The encyclical commands: “Let rulers of states therefore not refuse public veneration and obedience to the reigning Christ.”

The Seoul Colloquium does the exact opposite. It proposes a “New Heaven, New Earth and Great Harmony/Great Unity” built not on the Kingship of Christ, but on a “Confucian-Christian Dialogue.” The Final Statement mentions “justice,” “peace,” “harmony,” “common good,” “human dignity,” and “ethical values”—but never once names Jesus Christ as King, Lord, or Savior. It speaks of a “Way that is truly good and beautiful” without identifying that Way as Christ Himself (Ego sum Via, Veritas, et Vita, John 14:6). This is the laicism Pius XI condemned: “When God and Jesus Christ… were removed from laws and states and when authority was derived not from God but from men, the foundations of that authority were destroyed.” The conciliar sect builds a “harmonious world” on the sand of human consensus, explicitly rejecting the Rock of Peter and the Crown of Christ.

Naturalistic Reductionism: Religion as Ethical Therapy

The linguistic architecture of the Statement reveals a purely naturalistic anthropology. The participants “discussed a number of global issues, including social fragmentation, loneliness, forced migration, widening inequality, environmental degradation, war and discriminations and the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence.” Their conclusion: “these challenges cannot be met by technology or economics alone; they require ethical wisdom, spiritual depth, a sense of community, and a renewed commitment to the dignity of every human person and the common good.”

Notably absent: any reference to sin, grace, redemption, the Sacraments, the Last Judgment, Heaven, Hell, or the conversion of souls. The “spiritual depth” invoked is a vague, contentless sentimentality. The “ethical wisdom” is severed from the Logos. This is the religion of Humanitarianism, the religion of the Antichrist foretold by the Fathers, where creature replaces Creator. The Syllabus condemns: “No other forces are to be recognized except those which reside in matter, and all the rectitude and excellence of morality ought to be placed in the accumulation and increase of riches by every possible means, and the gratification of pleasure” (Error 58). While the Seoul Statement pays lip service to “ethics,” its framework—“technological progress must actively enhance human dignity”—is purely immanentist. It reduces the Church’s mission from salus animarum to social work.

The Masonic Architecture of the “New Heaven, New Earth”

The theme “New Heaven, New Earth and Great Harmony/Great Unity (Da Tong)” bears the unmistakable signature of the Masonic project for a universal religion. The False Fatima Apparitions document details the “Masonic Operation ‘Fatima'” and its “Disinformation strategy” stages, culminating in “Stage 3 (1958-2000): Takeover of the narrative by modernists, concealment of the Third Secret, ecumenical reinterpretation.” The Seoul Colloquium is the ripe fruit of this strategy: an “ecumenical reinterpretation” extended now to non-Christian philosophies, fulfilling the Masonic dream of a “parliament of religions” where all doctrines are dissolved into a vague “spirituality of humanity.”

The choice of Sogang University (Jesuit) and the Confucian Academy (Sungkyunkwan)—the latter historically the center of state Confucianism in Korea—signals the fusion of Modernist Catholicism (the Society of Jesus having been the primary vector of the nouvelle théologie) with Eastern pagan humanism. The presence of the “Cardinal” Koovakad (Prefect of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue) and “Monsignor” Kankanamalage confirms that this is the official policy of the Roman usurpation. They are not “dialoguing” as Catholics; they are functioning as agents of the conciliar sect, implementing the Nostra Aetate mandate to “recognize, preserve, and promote the good things… found in other religions”—a direct contradiction of the First Commandment and the Council of Florence (Cantate Domino): “It firmly believes, professes, and preaches that none of those existing outside the Catholic Church… can have a share in life eternal.”

The False “Cardinal” and the Usurped Authority

The article cites “Cardinal” George Jacob Koovakad as Prefect of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue. According to the Defense of Sedevacantism file, “A Pope-manifest heretic loses his office automatically.” St. Robert Bellarmine teaches: “A manifest heretic… by that very fact ceases to be Pope and head, just as he ceases to be a Christian and member of the body of the Church.” The line of claimants to the papacy since John XXIII (Roncalli) has publicly professed the heresies of Modernism, Religious Liberty, False Ecumenism, and Collegiality—condemned by Quanta Cura, Syllabus, Pascendi, Mortalium Animos, and Quas Primas. Therefore, “Pope” Leo XIV (Robert Prevost) is a manifest heretic and not the Pope. Consequently, his appointments—including Koovakad—are null and void (ipso facto). The Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue is a paramasonic department of the conciliar sect, not a Roman Congregation. Its “Prefect” holds no jurisdiction in the Catholic Church. He is a layman (at best a validly ordained priest, but deprived of office by heresy/schism) exercising a usurped authority to lead souls into indifferentism.

Symptomatic Conclusion: The Conciliar Sect as the “Abomination of Desolation”

The Seoul Colloquium is not an isolated error; it is the systemic manifestation of the Conciliar Church. The Final Statement‘s pledge to “engaging young people and exploring together the ethical implications of emerging technologies” reveals the true god of this sect: Technocratic Humanism. The “care for the vulnerable, future generations, and our common home” is the liturgy of the Laudato Si’ pseudo-encyclical—idolatry of the creature (Rom 1:25).

From the perspective of integral Catholic faith, this event is a crime of lèse-majesté divine. It substitutes the Social Kingship of Christ with a “Great Harmony” of Antichrist. It replaces the Great Commission (Docete omnes gentes) with a “dialogue of friendship.” It trades the Blood of the Lamb for “shared values.” The true Church—the remnant faithful to Tradition, the sedevacantist reality—must denounce this abomination. Non est alia salus. There is no harmony without the King. Christus vincit, Christus regnat, Christus imperat.
