Professor Yang’s resignation letter to the board (via Richard Madsen) strikes the only true note: “A violation of the freedom of speech that is essential to academic integrity… taking direction from the Chinese Communist Party’s United Front Work Department… crossed a red line for our profession.” Madsen, a sociologist, sees what the “Catholic” leadership cannot: that the USCCA has become an influence operation for the CCP. But even Madsen fails to see the theological root: the conciliar sect is the Great Apostasy foretold in 2 Thessalonians 2:3, the abomination of desolation (Matt. 24:15) standing where the Holy Sacrifice should be.
Conclusion: The Only Catholic Response Is Rejection
No true Catholic can collaborate with, recognize, or support the USCCA, the CCPA, the Vatican-China deal, or the hierarchy that engineered them. The duty of the hour is non possumus: to refuse the counterfeit church, to uphold the Social Kingship of Christ the King over all nations (including China), to pray and work for the conversion of China to the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church — not its “Sinicization” — and to sustain the true underground bishops and faithful who keep the depositum fidei intact in the catacombs. As Pius XI declared: “Let rulers of states therefore not refuse public veneration and obedience to the reigning Christ… if they wish to maintain their authority inviolate and contribute to the increase of their homeland’s happiness.” The USCCA has refused; it has chosen the happiness of the Communist Party. Its end will be the dust of history. Christus vincit, Christus regnat, Christus imperat.
