Schismatic Shrine: Art and Ruin as Substitutes for the Kingship of Christ
The National Catholic Register (NCR) portal publishes a feature by Mark Di Ionno dated September 28, 2026, describing the Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos in Lypivka, Ukraine. The article details the restoration of a modernist concrete structure adorned with murals by artist Anatoly Kryvolap, commissioned by philanthropist Bohdan Batruch. Damaged by Russian artillery in 2022, the building’s wounds—holes in the depiction of Michael the Archangel and seraphim—are deliberately preserved as a “reminder for the next generation.” The piece extols the “vibrant world of the artists,” the “museum quality” of the work, and the humanitarian efforts of the author, framing the edifice as a testament to Ukrainian resilience and cultural identity. This report epitomizes the conciliar sect’s replacement of the regnum Christi with a religion of art, nationalism, and humanitarianism.
